Tonga's Humpback Whales

August 26 th -- September 5th

Tonga is one of the few places you can legally swim with whales on the open ocean. Our friends at Dive Vavau have all the permits and a comfortable boat that carries 12 people. Only 4 swimmers can swim with the whales at one time and only with a guide. That means with 12 people we will have only 3 teams of people in the water at one time.

The Paradise Hotel is the best in Vavau and is very comfortable with good food. We don't eat at the hotel all meals as I have some neat little restaurants that are classic and cater to the yacht crowd. Breakfast is included at the hotel and lunch will be included on the boat. The hotel has a good kitchen and meals ar very good and reasonable but for dinner we often go to a couple little restaurants that are really classic.

To see and film these great animals in clear water is an adventure you will always treasure. During this prime period many of the big animal professional photographers will be in Vavau and we will be associating with them as most of them are my friends.

If you wish to extend in Fiji that is easy to arrange.

Call or e-mail us at any time for more information.

Kasawari, Sulawesi Indonesia

October 4th -- 16th

October is the best month for diving in Indonesia. Lembeh Strait is the best critter diving in the world, Kasawari Boutique Hotel is the best resort close to the premier diving and Roz and I have been there several times and hope you can join us. I was there 3 times last year and can't wait to get back.

We will fly Singapore Airlines to Singapore connecting to a Silk Air flight to Manado Sulawesi. An hour van ride brings us to Bitung where we have a short boat ride to the resort. On our way home we have 2 nights in Singapore included. There is a non stop flight to Singapor as well a flight that haa a stop in Tokyo or Taiwan.

Between dives the boats return to the hotel for snacks or meals. Most of the dive sites are a few minutes away though to the reef diving it may take 30 minutes. There are two guides per boat and only 6 divers on each boat. That means only 3 divers with a guide. Hot face towels and big towels when you come out of the water. The beach diving is amazing and the house reef is one of the good ones in the strait. You do have to plan the beach dives so they know where every one is diving. You can solo dive but the dive guides know all the animals and where they are and understand photographers.

The cabins are very modern with outside showers (plus regular tile showers) and all modern conveniences.

Actual cost details on this trip areon the home page. Base price $4,695.

Thanksgiving in Palau with Werner Kurn

Venture to the tropical island of Palau, with its incredible diversity of diving: walls, reefs, wrecks, caves. A holiday to remember with the beautiful beaches and friendly locals.
The Palau Island archipelago consists of about 300 scenic islands and features world-class diving. The dive boat will speed you past the lush rock islands on your way to 3 spectacular daily dives. Every site is unique and rewarding, from reef sharks and manta rays to microscopic nudibranchs and colorful clams. Although we dive the popular sites, we also make regular visits to the lesser known spots - including seldom visited World War II wrecks and out of the way reefs. Palau truly has it all. And don’t miss Jellyfish Lake, a truly wondrous experience as you swim through the multitude of non-stinging jellyfish. This is what we call a holiday in paradise!
The Palau Pacific Resort is our home for 7 nights, surrounded by the pristine, crystal blue waters of the western Pacific Ocean, combining the true spirit and culture of the islands with a tranquil ambience and beauty, in a world-famous resort destination for scuba diving. Palau Pacific Resort is the only luxury international resort in Palau featuring a private 1000-foot blanket of white sand beach with excellent snorkeling right off the hotel’s beach front, a freshwater outdoor beachside swimming pool and Jacuzzi overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
We will also stay one night at Makati Shangri-La hotel, located at the center of Manila's most prestigious business, shopping and entertainment district. While in the capital city of the Philippines, browse around the colonial architecture that survived the bombing of the city during World War II or the Ayala Museum, or take a leisurely stroll at the park located across from the hotel, or catch a show at any of the colorful nightlife spots.

Included:
International airfare from LAX, 7 nights at the Palau Pacific Resort
Stopover nights in Manila, 5 days of 3-tank boat dives
